The 2019 Saints will be a team that folks talk about decades from now.

Facing the loss of the GOAT QB for the first half of the year, Coach Payton will devise an innovative 2-QB system, which will create more mismatches than a Las Vegas wedding chapel.

This defense is GOOD. We held the vaunted Rams offense to 6 points until the wear and tear of the short week, short offensive possessions, and poor officiating. And oh yeah, they scored a touchdown.

This kicker is GREAT. The punter is GREAT. The rookie returner might be good too.

Bridgewater is supposed to be pretty good. Let's see what he can do with a full week of prep. If not, Hill is good. If Payton really wants to show his brilliance, he will use both.

We'l probably fall to the Seahawks, Cowboys and Referees. Fortunately, that only counts as two more losses. Unfortunately, we have to play the Referees every week, but they may forget about us after a 1-3 start. Then we play three really bad teams and a Bear team with a really bad offense. That's 4-4 going into the bye.

Then we get Brees back. Former comeback player of the year will do it again. And what will his first game be? At home against the Falcons! He owns them! National spotlight. Gleason on the sidelines. The Dome will be rocking and we should rip off 7-8 wins after that.

Then the playoffs, probably with a 3 or 4 seed. And whom will we face? Probably the Seahawks, Cowboys, and/or Rams - probably the same three teams that beat us this year. Those will be the real revenge games. Every media outlet not owned by the NFL will scrutinize every single penalty against us. And hey, maybe the league office will conclude that another Saints championship is a narrative that can restore "the Shield" to its former credibility (and make more money for the owners).

We may not win the Super Bowl, but nor did we in 1987, 2000, or 2006. But those were fun years. This will be a fun year, and possibly historic.

They would definitely be a sentimental favorite if Brees can get back and they can find a way to make the postseason.

Do not underestimate the power if the ewing theory

Yeah, man! Nice to read a positive take. Hope you're right.

They'll squeak into the the playoffs by the hair of their chinny chin chins and advance to the Super Bowl, where Brees will outduel and upset Tom Brady and the 18-0 Patriots -- who dat!

Sounds plausible, but I fear it's gonna be more like the Haslett era where we win one, lose one, lose another, get hopes up then 7-9. But I'm on board and Teddy can hopefully only play better along with Cook. . . .it has to get better then what we saw yesterday.
