Quick answer, thats a really short sighted analysis of the situation.

Did you want to take the ball out of a HoFs hands and give it to a guy who hasnt played in 2 years? No, you dont control those things, its why depth is almost as important as your front line guys. There is NO ONE on this roster who could step into a #1 WR role, and its not close.

Besides depth, there are going to be game plans that limit Thomas. NFCCG, Thomas was for the most part shut down, who stepped up? Not a WR. And dont call 3 catches for Ginn him 'stepping up'.

No one is wanting to quit throwing to him. He is entering into the realm of best WRs Ive ever watched. But Brees/Bridgewater needs to be able to check down to something. Or maybe Mike would be even MORE effective if someone kept the defenses honest on the other side of the ball.
