Studs and Duds from Saints' 13-6 win over Jaguars

The New Orleans Saints took down the Jacksonville Jaguars in their own building to improve to 5-1, and some players stood out more than their teammates — for good reasons or bad.

Cornerback Marshon Lattimore had himself a day in the spotlight, manning up with top Jaguars wide receiver DJ Chark and effectively taking him away from rookie quarterback Gardner Minshew. Minshew tested Lattimore’s coverage of Chark six times, completed just two passes for 21 yards. Lattimore intercepted one ball and deflected three others. He’s really turned the corner in recent weeks back towards playing like someone the Saints can count on in the secondary, and that elevates the entire defense.

On offense, running back Latavius Murray finally broke out. Despite having a 42-yard catch-and-run touchdown pass wiped out by a weak holding penalty on wide receiver Michael Thomas, Murray posted season-high numbers as a runner (44 rushing yards on eight attempts) and receiver (catching all three of his targets to gain 35 yards through the air). ...
