3 games up in NFC South... 6 games remain (1 Viewer)

Gotta get past the Panthers first.

Just like we did after getting punked by ATL, they could come back and play well next week. So we gotta be ready.

If we get past that then they need to laser focus on beating the "new look" Falcons.

Saints should secure this division in the next 2 games.

10-2 vs 5-7

I think we stamped out any semblance of hope that Tampa had at a WC.
With a win next week, we put Carolina in a bad hole.
Then, we can put the final nail in Atlanta’s coffin on Thanksgiving night.

One game at a time, but this is my hope. 10-2 on Thanksgiving night, division secured, with 4 games left to go.

just looking at things... I don't think we will be able to officially clinch on Thanksgiving weekend

I mostly say that b/c I believe they need 2 wins and 2 Panther losses to officially clinch the division... obviously the Saints beating the Panthers next Sunday would give us 1 of each

but... looking ahead... obviously the week after is Thanksgiving with the Saints in Atlanta on TNF... but the Panthers have the Redskins on Sunday... that should be an easy CAR win

so we'll have to wait another week to either win the division ourselves (which is the 49ers game... win the division and set ourselves up for HFA all in 1 day? I'm down)... or have ATL beat CAR in ATL to give us the division that day

Winning the division in Atlanta on Thanksgiving would be the ultimate revenge.
as I stated... winning the division while actually IN Atlanta on Thanksgiving night is mathematically impossible

earliest we'll be able to win it is the Sunday after Thanksgiving if the Panthers somehow lose to the Redskins

if the Panthers beat the Redskins... then a Saints win over the 49ers or a Falcon win over the Panthers on 12/8 will clinch the division for the Saints

That makes me feel better but I hope the team feels and plays like the division is still on the line.

and I'm proven wrong... a Saints win the next 2 weeks WILL clinch the division in Atlanta on Thanksgiving night... I was looking at outright only and no tiebreakers

winning the next 2 weeks would clinch the division record tiebreaker (2nd tiebreaker following head-to-head record) over Carolina

A win vs. the Panthers & @ Atlanta gives NO a 10-6 record with a 4-1 record in the division and only 1 NFC South game left... NO beating CAR would give CAR its 6th overall loss & 3rd NFC South loss... securing the tiebreaker

so... in short... I'm wrong... Saints CAN in fact clinch in Atlanta on Thanksgiving night
