The New Orleans Saints headlined the NFL’s schedule of Thanksgiving games and came away with a win, defeating the Atlanta Falcons to the tune of 26-18. If not for a series of penalties and miscues on defense and special teams, the score would have been even more disparate.
It followed up one game that was closer than many anticipated when third-string Detroit Lions quarterback David Blough (a Purdue Boilermakers legend and Ohio State Buckeyes nightmare) took the Chicago Bears down to the wire in a 24-20 loss. But sandwiched in-between was the Buffalo Bills’ shocking road win over the Dallas Cowboys, 26-15.
