Cutting the cable, lets talk options and media setups

so I ran into the first snafu with using my Amazon Recast. When I moved, I am now in a building of plaster and concrete outside and the windows I need to use open to a court yard where it isn't nearly as open as I had it before. With the current antenna I am picking up channels but several key channels are too weak. NBC being the worst offender.

I have one that was removed from Amazon but it claimed 120 miles and it is amplified. It was one of the flat square ones you put in a window with a 25 foot coaxial cable. Anyone have any suggestions on a better antenna (outdoor doesn't really look to be an option either without drilling an unauthorized hole.
