N/S Cowboys player Drew Pearson emotional from getting snubbed by HOF

Complete side note but have you ever heard of Al Blozis (1940 All-Decade Team) .

He was drafted in 1942. Dominated for 2 years but only played in 42, 43, and 3 games in 44 before his career ended.

Apparently he had been petitioning the USM to join the armed forces but was denied due to his height ( too tall at 6-6). He finally got in late in1943 and was allowed furlough to play in NFL games in 44.

He was stationed at a desk job (2nd lt) but petitioned several times to go to the front. Eventually in JAN 45 he went to France. Two of his men went on a scout mission and did not return. He went looking for them and was later pronounced MIA/KIA.
