First of all, the fact that the 49ers loss, ABSOLUTELY warms the cockles of my heart. I literally thanked God for what I felt was a personal gift. Besides Cowboy fans, is there a more obnoxious fan base than the 49ers? I don't know but not to my experience.

Anyway, I watched the leagues BEST defense give up a 44 yard bomb on 3rd and 15 in an extremely critical moment of the game. I then watched that same defense give up 21 points on what I believe were 3 consecutive drives and were one pass away from giving up the 28th. I felt like I was watching our guys out there.

Finally, I know there is "hopium" every year, but the Saints have what it take to win it all. They do. But we are gonna need some luck, some health, some good bounces of the ball, and a legit #2 WR...OH and our coach sticking with the run when it's working. If Rankins and Davenport stay healthy, our secondary will fare better. This team has what it takes.

People keep harping on Brees but Brees was still dealing, 70+% passing completion, a stoopid TD/Int ratio and a great command of the O.

I am not sure we would have beaten KC because we don't have the D that San Fran has but we do have a phenomenal Special Teams and a legit O.

very solid stuff. I agree, especially on the luck and health. We were actually lucky for much of the year because though we had a bunch of injuries, there weren't that many season ending and there was a very good chance that we would get healthy at the right time which is obviously the most important thing when you look at the two teams that were dancing. That all changed for us some time around the 49er game though. Guys were falling for the season left and right. The luck and injury thing is in play every single year bar none.

and I was just as thrilled about the results, both because 9ers loss (delicious) and I was happy for the Chiefs. Lots of Louisiana boys to be happy for, the Chiefs have never been an enemy of the Saints and they actually used to be my second favorite team back in the days of the 3 headed rushing attack.
