Algiers ferry - huh?

Lived in Algiers for a few years. The first time I told my daughter we were going to ride the ferry across the river to go to the aquarium she thought I meant f-a-i-r-y fairy. I didn't find this out until a few years later. I vividly remember her asking, "where is the ferry?" and being less than enthused when I replied this is it. Had always thought she was a bit scared of the water and the breeze that first time. Turns out she was pretty bummed that we were just taking a boat and not a fairy. All makes sense now. We both had a good laugh when she told me.

man i used to loved biking (with kid wagon) to the ferry to the aquarium, then beignets then home - great mornings
also really miss the ferry on mardi gras - ferry over in full regalia, head to the marigny for the beginning of St Ann's, get under the overpass for zulu, get back for the end of St Ann's and/or Bourbon St awards, then slink back to algiers and go get some popeyes
that was the best
