COVID-19 Outbreak (Update: More than 2.9M cases and 132,313 deaths in US)

I spent an hour on the phone with our lawyer regarding the temporary FMLA and sick leave plan that is out as a result of Covid19.

One of the questions that we had was which corporations/companies qualify and which are exempt.

We knew that companies with fewer than 50 employees and more than 500 are exempt but we represent companies that might have 40 employees at our site but more than 50 nationwide and vice versa we have a company that has fewer than 500 at our site but more than 500 nationwide. Is the temporary policy administered on a local level or a nationwide level.

Our lawyer told us that the count is to include all employees within the United States, and all of it's territories. It even includes temps, and employees of joint corporations.

It basically means that a lot of people will not qualify for help.
