Brees > Rodgers Stats

To make those stats more correct, we need to clarify that Brees played in 184 games during that span and Rodgers played in 174 games. Basically, stats that are based on averages or percentages won't change but most of the ones based on totals will end up becoming a smaller lead for whomever was leading before adjusting that total to an average, the outlier being Rodgers' woeful sack total which ends up becoming an even bigger lead for Brees.

Also, while I realize it seems apples-to-apples on the surface using identical time frames, it's not quite since Brees' time frame starts once he's already in his prime with far better numbers than he had in his first 5 seasons. I think the most sensible way to cut through the bullshirt and compare them equally is to eliminate each of their first three seasons and go from there since, by then, each of them were full time starters. Yeah, Brees was already starting full time by season 2 but he inherited a 5-11 team while Rodgers got to study behind one of the game's greatest, Brett Favre, for 3 years and inherited a 13-3 team that was an OT period away from the Super Bowl.

With all that out of the way, here are their respective career averages from each of their careers from their 4th seasons to present.

I'm not completely sure what's a more accurate indicator of who's a better QB, TDs/INTs per game or TD/INT% so I included both. Also, they both have a stat where their victory is completely hollow, anyway, since the "losers" in those categories still had numbers at least 99.4% as good as the "winners", Brees' hollow victory being in TD per game and Rodgers' being in YPA.

Overall, we have a 6-6 tie. Furthermore, since the amounts by which these categories were won and lost varied so wildly (some almost tied while others were blowouts) we could assign points to the winner of each stat based on their ratio against the loser. This is what the numbers in the column on the far right are. The final totals are tallied at the bottom.
