You can bet most of Taysom’s 21mil is on next year since we didn’t have much cap space for this year and we needed to create space to sign Jameis. The question is how much Drew counts next year if he retires. He currently has a cap number of 36mil next year.
Yeah I’m just noticing that teams that are paying top QBs are shelling out 32-35 mill a year on them individually, when we collectively have been paying our entire QB room the same amount. Makes it not that bad when you put it in perspective.
Wilson makes 35/year, Big Ben 34, Rodgers Ryan etc 33. Last year we paid less than that for Drew Taysom and Teddy combined. Long as Drew gives us hometown discounts, whatever we pay our backups isn’t really hurting us because there’s a 10 mill cushion there. We’re still under or on par with teams with an established franchise QB and we are getting better production.
