I don't think he said anything even remotely close to that. I think he has intelligently and respectfully presented a point of view that goes against the prevailing currents in this thread. I think he's made some good points and some incorrect ones, but I think he's done it gracefully and in a way that adds to the conversation.

I agree with most of that. He did say that about the grandparents though. He even admitted it was a callous thing to say. But that could be my parents who recently turned 70. So no, I'm not sacrificing my parents so that mine or anyone else's kids can have a social life. Screw that.

And to be sure, my kids have the advantage of social media apps. So in reality, their social life hasn't really changed all that much. The lack of physically being with other friends is a small sacrifice to make if it keeps us safe long enough to weather this thing.
