COVID-19 Outbreak (Update: More than 2.9M cases and 132,313 deaths in US)

Well, Louisiana is extending the Stay at Home Order until May 15. The governor says we have not met the Phase One gate because of lack of testing capacity and the fact that several regions in the state still have rising numbers of cases (Monroe area-Northeast Lousiana) and others have only reached a plateau with no decreases (North Shore of New Orleans).

Interestingly, those are more rural areas than other parts of the state unlike New Orleans and Baton Rouge.

I believe the rising numbers in Ouachita parish is partly a side effect of the tornadoes that hit 2 weeks ago. One of them cut a 8 mile swath starting in Bawcomville, jumped the river, then tore up sections of south Monroe all the way to the airport/Mall area. Lots of destroyed houses that forced many to double up with family or friends and many people walking around sightseeing the damage with little to no protection.
