COVID-19 Outbreak (Update: More than 2.9M cases and 132,313 deaths in US)

And at one fifteenth of the population and I would surmise 1/40th the land mass. Are you really comparing the complexities of containing a virus between the U.S. and New Zealand.

You people are so in the tank of bashing this country at every turn it's both sad and comical at the same time.

Want to pretend the US is handling this well? Want to ignore the number of cases? How about the number of deaths? Should we compare with other countries like Hong Kong and Iran that had protests going into the virus but were responsible enough to stop the protests in the best interest of the country until after the virus? Not here, we bring our guns to the state capital and try to demand the economy reopening by force, intimidation and fear despite more than 70% of the country wanting to remain closed to get rid of the virus. If that happened in the Middle East we would have hit them with drone strikes and called it terrorism.

Every single thing that we were predicting in this thread months ago came to fruition. Like I said months ago, our solution will be spraying it with money since we can't bomb it and using Science and math is out of the question. It was common sense and basic math. If we can't ever be disappointed with ouselves and admit when we make mistakes we can't ever fix them. So yeah, I'm embarrassed right now and expect more. I can't imagine accepting the USA is the worst in the world and being ok with it, to accept that is to give up on your country.

Now, do I have a solution? Nope. Can't keep the economy shut down forever. It's like asking me how to not wreck the train after the fact. What I can say is the least people can do is quit crying about wearing mask and at least be responsible but even that seems to be too much to ask.
