In this thread I have seen posters talk about raising taxes and i cant understand why government accountability doesnt come first

When I mentioned raising taxes I was being more practical and less idealistic. Yes, ideally we should be cutting spending and seeking accountability. From a practical standpoint, we know with certainty that won't happen.
