The Unemployment Line: COVID-19 Edition

The games that are played with unemployment are infuriating. In Indiana it seems like the questions change every week. They're telling us that they have waived the requirement to look for a new job, but every week I get flagged because I don't submit proof that I have been looking for a new job.

Then you get politicians climbing up on their soap box saying things like, "maybe if people didn't eat avocados, they would have six months of salary in the bank for emergencies." And then they turn around and give trillions of dollars in bailouts to corporations that just received one and a half trillion dollars in tax cuts just a year ago. Maybe if those corporations hadn't made campaign contributions they would have had six months of expenses saved for emergencies.
AMEN!

There is some truth about spending habits and savings. I won't deny that ever. At the same token, why don't any businesses have operations money socked away for events like this?

I wonder what our weekly payroll is and how that compares to just pure "profit" we made last quarter. Or better yet, how much profit growth. Just that growth could probably fund us for a while.. but I digress..
