I agree with
renegadewa, Haslett lost control of his team at certain points. I will say this about him - Haslett didn't care who we were playing and pulled out some victories against teams that on paper should have creamed us. After many years of getting crushed by the Niners, the team I hate most in pro sports, Haslett swept them in 2000. That was a fun season. The Rams were both extremely talented and cocky when Haslett was our coach and Haslett didn't care -- we held our own against them when they were one of the best teams in football. Your coach should believe his team can beat anyone they line up against and it was just refreshing to see it as a Saints fan. It seemed in a lot of pre-Haslett seasons we were down by two scores before we even took the field. Ditka left him with as bare a cupboard as any first year coach in NFL history and to win a playoff game with that team was amazing.
