Empathy and love goes two ways. My heart is filled with both. All I'm asking is to not do it during the anthem...and I'll stand (or kneel) with you. If you really want to unite people, you find compromise and consider the other side. In my case you're asking me to give up the one thing I find sacred. The one thing that I believe can be a rallying point. Just think if we all stood arm in arm, hand in hand, during the anthem, and kneeled, or cried,, etc., for the other 10,078 minutes of the week. Instead, the focus is fighting over 2 minutes. Let go of that 2 minutes and I'll bet you get what you are looking for....unless forcing people to accept kneeling during the anthem is the real goal.
