What if Drew Brees has a change of heart and wants to return for 2021? Do we risk losing Jameis like we did with Teddy or do we honor Drew's wish

I don't know about Jameis as a franchise guy. I don't know about Taysom as a franchise guy. I will say that Id like to see Taysom get a full offseason and full preseason as the starter and see what he can do. But ultimately, you don't know what he will look like full time.

What I do know is, Brees is done. Brees had 2 things keeping him above water despite a severe lack of arm strength - Wisdom and surgical accuracy. The accuracy is mostly gone. Event the announcers said that he isn't putting the ball in a spot to allow his receivers to run. The short passes are all over the place. Swings to Kamara require Kamara make circus catches behind the LOS. He is a game manager at best. But his arm has really, really taken a dive.

And I never bought into him needing a big arm. He was efficient the last few years and the offense was still humming along. But the lack of arm strength has taken a nose dive, even from last year. It is, bad.

I think Brees came back to prevent Brady from playing in NOLA. I think Brees came back to extend his records. I think he came back because he saw a crack in the window and didn't want to walk away with that window still slightly open.

But its time. He just looks like an old man playing football. Last year, I thought Brady had declined and Brees was holding up a little better. This year I feel like Brady has pretty much stayed the same as last year while Brees floored the gas pedal of aging. And while Brady is a year or two older, he will probably playing another 2-3 years. Brady will eventually own virtually every one of Brees' passing records. He is only down a few TD passes. He is less that a season behind in passing yardage.

So he did prevent Brady from playing in NOLA. But Brees simply cant play another year. He is too far gone. Next year Brady will eclipse at the least the 2 major records, Yards and TDs. Theres no avoiding that for Brees.
