Teams are all going to start the same strategy like the saints did.. keep mostly 2 safety high & dare them to run the ball and simply don’t let anyone get over the top. It works..
but if you cannot score or sustain drives, it wont matter.
What got us in the end was the inability to turn 3rd downs into 1sts.
One great "defensive" weapon is a time consuming, TD scoring offense. You condense the game for the opponents offense down to making every play count. That pressure begins to build and most teams make a mistake/lose a bit of focus because of it.
We missed that Sunday early on, but started to see glimpses of it in the 4th. When we play that type of football ( which has been more often than not this season ) we are hard to beat.
I suspect there will be much greater focus offensively going fwd on execution and conversions.
