Sean Payton and Mickey Loomis at the Alabama pro-day

Except that you and no one else here can explain how a backup QB makes more sense than a starting skill player like Jamar Chase.

Even when the Saints were competing recently for a title they traded a 3rd for Bridgewater, not all the way up to the top 10.

And even when GB took Rodgers and Love they didn't trade at all and were at the back of round one.

Talk about an insult to Drew Brees. The Saints were looking for a backup. The 49ers are not. You don't want to believe this reality. That's fine. The Saints were looking for a backup for their future Hall of Fame franchise QB . The 49ers are looking for a franchise QB with a serviceable QB still on the roster. Yeah, he'll be a back up now the same way Patrick Mahomes was a back up, if they're lucky. But make no mistake, that's what the 49ers are hoping to accomplish, they want to draft the next Patrick Mahomes...not plan their future around their current QB. These scenarios are not the same.
