Brees says that he was only fully healthy for one game last season (1 Viewer)

Great, maybe he only should have played 1 game then instead of holding the team back and playing hurt. He definitely should have kept this a secret. Agree with others that he should have retired a year earlier, but he was gonna get his.

Kinda wish he kept that to himself.

Brett Favre says "hold up a min"- thats EXACTLY how i built my legacy.

I mean, Favre plays on a bruised ankle and it gets played " how masculine and heroic" - Drew goes out, barely says a word about the other issues ( ribs coulndt ignore ) and somehow tarnishes his legacy?

nah. That dude was a baller from day 1 and im glad he spoke out.

When your last game is that bad, maybe he should've SAT ON THE BENCH!!!

Who mentioned anything about tarnished legacy? Brett Favre legacy doesn’t correlate with this topic either.

No doubt Drew is an all time baller, but the reason I said I wish he kept it to himself is because most non bias Saints fan realized that Drew throwing ability was hampering and jeopardizing our opportunities to advance into the playoffs. Even his main weapon spoke out against his limited ability.

It leaves a sour taste because he obviously knew he was hurt and couldn’t perform like we needed him to.

Your outlook is so flawed. Do you honestly believe we would of won as many games without him last year! Just having his leadership there to help the others made a big difference, if you do not believe me as Jamis Winston who most likely would not of even signed with the Saints if DB was not here. He said DB was one of the biggest reasons he wanted to play for the Saints.

I just do not get the hate!

All athletes eventually excuse their poor seasons due to injury. It's one of the most common off-season themes to repeat itself.

Player X has meh season, Player X unloads all injuries he had AFTER the season.

To their credit they are warriors so i never look at it as somethign they should have never said, plus keeping it to yourself during the season is far more important because teams attack injuries.

Oh you're a CB coming back off a shoulder injury? Well lets see how willing to tackle you are by running some power run plays your way.

We actually did that to a Philly DB a few years back.

but the competitor he is, went out and performed. Not his fault that idiot TE we had doesnt know how to cradle a ball or catch a simple out pass. We absolutely could have won the TB playoff - that fumble was a back breaker.

What we needed from Drew is exactly what we got. Its that a few select players didnt step their game up and take up the slack. ( including defense as well )

im fully convinced that Sean and Drew had a "gentlmens agreement" before the 2020 season- out of an abundance of respect for Drew, Sean agreed to ride one last time.
