Excellent discussion. They essentially say that after the Robey-Coleman "non-call" (in which they state emphatically that the Saints would have gone on to the Super Bowl) ...that the NFL put a band aid on replay review in 2019, then hoped that the league would forget about it. Bottom line: The rule change going into the 2021 season does not fix what happened to the Saints in the 2018 NFCCG.

Florio, and NFL analyst Charean Williams, were bold enough to say that there should have been a LATE FLAG to make the right call. Again, excellent discussion. Once again, as with going against the tide with Bountygate, Florio goes to bat for the Saints.

They also go over several other rules changes in the rest of the video. This is a good "must view" segment for all fans, IMO.

This won’t help. They will still get calls wrong to rub it into the face’s of fans. I have ZERO trust and faith in the NFL. It’s just entertainment. I think the part that frustrates me the most, is they have the technology to get the calls right, they are refusing to do so. It only makes people wonder “why”. And don’t give me the BS about “it will make the game longer”. That’s a cop out. I’m sure fans would be just fine waiting for a good call, as opposed to a bad call.

It will take more than just a couple of talk show analyst to make them address anything. This went unchecked because not enough people believed that it could happen to their team and not enough people believed it was important to have integrity. Just a game - yea but if you don’t have faith in the fairness, it’s a game without a point.

I know a lot of people don’t like Florio and admittedly he does have some bad takes sometimes but he has really gone to bat for the Saints when it mattered most and he was one of the only ones to do so. So I will never forget that.

Good point. And that's why I like Florio.

All the other talking heads :blabla: sing the party line and go with the status quo. In this video, Florio outright CALLS OUT the NFL for their inaction. He didn't sugar coat it, and told it like it was.

Again, just like with Bountygate (when others, including Scooter Duncan were piling on the Saints), Florio shows that he has large spherical objects.

I liked Florio's take. But I liked it even more because he was discussing the topics with someone insightful as opposed to that moron Chris Simms. Simms is yet another "analyst" who was born on third but thinks he hit a triple (aka Joe Buck).

I like it when someone turns a good phrase. Well done. :bowdown2:

I’m just mad they didn’t hang an NFC Championship banner. We won that championship and are the first team to do so without being invited to the SB.

It's hard being a fan these days if you we're also a fan 20, 30 40 years ago.

The integrity and soul of the game has been stripped and sold to make more money. Everything from marketing to presentation to the rules have been watered down to be as marketable and profitable as possible.

From the costs of attending a game, to jerseys to advertising being plastered all over a broadcast to the reality show feel of it all.

The league sold out long ago and eventually it's gonna hurt their bottom line as it always does.

This cost Brees a second sb
That second ring would have done wonders for his legacy. Not saying that his legacy isn’t great now, but it would have solidified him as a top 5 QB of all time, maybe higher. When he retired, many talking heads were asking if he was even top 10. Shameful on so many levels

Florio has been our advocate a few times now. It's weird to think that the refs can blow a call like that and there's nothing that can be done. There should be a "common sense" rule from the booth when a blatant call like that is missed.

What good is replay if it can't fix an obvious issue like that? Smh, I was having a decent morning and now I'm remembering that blown call. That was it. I knew as soon as it happened that the window was closed.

Something could have been done, but Goodell allowed it to stand. Literally everyone that saw that play knows that Pass Interference was blatantly obvious.

That was collusion from the league office. The NFL wanted the Rams in that Super Bowl, and Vinovich’s crew made it happen... Not only with the biggest/worst “missed call” in the history of the sport... but also with the illegal blow to head on Drew Brees (from Fowler) in OT that also went uncalled.

That play ruined the NFL. It completely exposed the corruption and impurities within the NFL.
