Payton Turner: How Do you like the Pick?

That is what I see with the pick Tom good analysis. We have to disregard past health issues at this point and focus on the positive. The kid can collapse a pocket quick fast in a hurry and get his hands up when necessary to block a pass with a 7ft wing span. In a division with Tom Brady and the Harlem Globe Trotter Receiving corps they have I like him alot. If you are facing Superman, grab Kryptonite my friend

Yes but the kid hasn’t even played the position for all that long. And when he did he didn’t dominate in a not top end type conference of college football you would hope like Marcus Davenport did. He screams project and I don’t think we can afford to take a project with the 28th pick in the draft. You want to take potential 1st year starters in the first round unless you are completely loaded at every position which we are not.

When WWL interviewed him he sounded quite surprised we took him that high. Detillier pointed that out on the broadcast. He said we were quite interested, but I didn’t know at 28. He didn’t even think he would go that high. Detillier wasn’t a huge fan of the pick as was Bobby. Christian was asking Mike about how Cam looked when he came out compared to Payton. Both him and Bobby almost laughed and were like Cam was seen as a potential day one starter with huge potential. That draft was loaded at defensive end and we were extremely lucky to get Cam that late in the draft. Luckily he was a 3-4 DE that was better at run defense than rushing the passer, so he fell further than most.

JOK would of been a perfect pick. He is one of the best LBs I’ve seen in coverage. Then when Atlanta took Kyle Pitts who will be a beast TE for years to come it would of made the JOK pick make even more sense
