I think these projections undershoot the yardage. Let’s keep in mind that in the right scheme, he is very accurate.

let’s keep in mind that the ability to roll out is only in its infancy, we have seen him boot and traditionally just keep the ball. Get him to the point that he can throw the ball on the run, we see a very very stretched out and weak defence.

let’s keep in mind that he has a certain explosive playmaker factor that a very rare amount of players possess.

it is certainly not unreasonable to see the rush numbers, and frankly I expect something close to that if he is the starter.

I have to think Payton is leaning his way to start the season.

the folks that will come in here abs mention the Philly game, I think they may have a case of defence amnesia because we could not stop a thing that game. Taysom kept us on that game, turnovers included, until the end. Hell, we did get that onside kick!

So from my point of view, you have a player with incredible upside, who is accurate, and can stress a defence, I’m not so sure he can’t throw for 4000 with him, AK and Murray in the backfield. There is unlimited potential. And a unique formation oppurtunity with him under Centre. You could literally scheme so much box heavy formations and work the ball to Trautman.

there is a lot to be had.

and yes, these are the ramblings of a very inebriated fan. But I think there is alot to be said in this manor!
