Ian Book reminds me of a young Brees

Ian Book is a classic west coast (Jeff Garcia) kind of QB. He is not a let it fly type QB ie Farve, Winston, even Brady or Brees. He would avg. about 26 points a game instead of 30, but with less turnovers. He may have to open up his game a bit in the NFL, but he dosn't make a lot mistakes. He is never going to light it up for 4, 5 passing TD games. That's not his game. What is Book's game, is being the "point guard" spreading the ball around to the play makers. He really knows how to work the talent.

He sets the WRs, TEs, and RB's up for success. He has very good pocket awareness, and can be very elusive. I saw some film on him getting pressure up the middle, and Book showed a back peddle move that would leave a DB coach drooling. Some say he misses open receivers down field, but I think he is showing restraint not to take risks. That is very hard to teach. I know Sean can open up his game a bit, but he checks a lot of boxes. But, does he have an NFL arm? That's what we need to find out.
.......not gonna lie, that sounds like what Brees was doing in THIS offense.

Payton can win with a Winston and get production out of Hill which says so much about the HOF in the making Coach we have coaching the Saints.

Payton sees Book as a player similar to the one he's coached to a HOF career and thinks his skillset fits what this offense does and needs from it's signal caller.
