Patrick Robinson retiring

Nope.

If he were to be traded now his 2021 cap hit would go from 10.1M to 8.9M This tears signing bonus charge) for a savings of 1.2M.

Next year his signing Bonus charge goes to 22.7M but that is 2M less than his combined salary, roster bonus, and 1 years worth of signing bonus.
It's still over $30 million dollars over 2 years. My point is that it's dead money. It still has to be paid against the cap, and you don't have the services of the player.

Thomas was never going to have that $24 million cap his for 2022. Loomis would do his Loomising thing and restructured, or MT13 would be gone. But instead of paying $30+ million, next year the 2 year cap hit would be down to $22 million or so ($9 million 2022, $13 million 2023). Still dead money, but a bit less.
