Drew knew it all along ( My Conspiracy Theory ) Long Read

Interesting post overall, but this ^^^ part is off.

The reason Winston started last year was for one reason only - he had taken snaps with the second team and had been in the QB room all week. Taysom had not. So Winston was prepared for the game and Taysom was only truly prepared for his swiss army knife role.

The next week, Taysom took snaps with the ones and prepared for the game in the QB room, studied film as the starting QB and was ready to go.

CSP had told us that before it happened would be his game plan.

"So far, the Saints are determined to stick to their plan. The way Payton tells it, when Winston first got on the field after Brees was injured midgame, they did so because Hill’s myriad responsibilities as a blocker, receiver and special teams ace would have had to be redistributed on the fly. The plan all along has been for Hill to start after being given enough time to prepare for it. Whether or not Brees is cleared to return for their Week 15 game with the Kansas City Chiefs, they’ll probably look back on this experience as a win."

No, @BBarnes6182 was correct. Not only did he quote Glazer but this was a topic much discussed and reported at the time.

I agree with @Icon. Please post any source that indicates otherwise.

Edit: Jeff Darlington said,

One day after Brady's remark on "The Shop" was released, ESPN did a segment on morning show "Get Up!" asking a panel which team should most regret not signing Brady last offseason. Jeff Darlington picked the Saints and explained that Brady was close to signing with New Orleans before choosing the Buccaneers.

“I’m gonna say it as clear as day: it is the New Orleans Saints,” Darlington said. “Regret might be a strong word because ultimately, Drew Brees decided to delay his broadcasting career and come back for one more season. The Saints did the right thing by bringing Brees back. But I think that people still underestimate how close Tom Brady was to signing with the New Orleans Saints up until he ultimately decided on the Bucs. I know that that’s gonna be a statement people try to question. It’s the truth.

“And here’s the deal: Sean Payton cannot look back and say, ‘Man, I would have loved to have Tom Brady last year,’ because it would also have meant that they would have him for a few more years moving forward. No question in my mind. The Saints, despite understanding they did what they had to do, there’s a little bit of, let’s call it regret, that Tom Brady is not their quarterback.”

I'm pretty sure most top QBs express desire to play in a Sean Payton offense, behind closed doors.
It's no secret Payton is a genius and we do have one of the better Olines in the NFL. It's an ideal situation for any QB.
