Lol, no, it's absolutely not. If you want to make a jacked up tax policy worse, that's one way to do it. What I'd rather do is target all of the loopholes and tax shelters the wealthy gets and leave the progressive tax rates as they are. The issue is that the wealthy are not paying their fair share, with effective rates very often in the single digits. Effective rates for people making $250k+ should be in the 30% range. I used to do taxes for wealthy individuals and without giving anything away, let's just say they don't pay nearly what they should.
