Forgive me if this has been asked in here before.

I missed the comic book train in my youth. I'm thinking I would like to give it an honest try.

I like generally tend to Sci-fi from medieval swords & sorcery and space shenanigans.

Any recommendations for an older novice looking to start from the beginning of a story which isn't already a movie or TV series?

Actually, there's a new miniseries coming out from DC that places the Trinity in a medieval time story (not sent back in time, but actually a part of the timeline). It looks quite interesting.

Marvel is still doing Conan. Dynamite does Red Sonja, but they can't decide if they are going to keep her in her normal timeline or in our present.

Once and Future from Boom Studios is awesome. It's horror and magic and the return of King Arthur (and Beowulf) to the present all mixed into one. One of my favorite reads right now.
