Texas, the new Florida

Desks make students feel uncomfortable- industrial toilet paper, girls make boys uncomfortable and vice versa, dodgeball, walking across campus, Texas heat, picture day, prom…the entirety of a teens life is uncomfortable
Krause, who chairs the state’s House Committee on General Investigating, also directed the districts to identify “any other books” that could cause students “guilt, anguish, or any other form of psychological distress because of their race or sex or convey that a student, by virtue of their race or sex, is inherently racist, sexist, or oppressive, whether consciously or unconsciously.”

Man, that's an extremely wide net he's trying to cast. How about just put every book in schools in a giant pile, and take a flamethrower to it. Wait, I think I read that in a book. Fahrenheit 4-something or other.

Some of these types of shenanigans are taking it's toll on educators. My wife told me recently she's thinking about quitting and finding something else outside education. If an educator says something that a student may misconstrue, the student could tell their parent, and it's not hard to see some parents getting enraged, raising hell about it, and then the story gets spread on social media and next thing you know, you're name is everywhere and possibly drawing the attention of traditional media. The stress isn't worth the wage.
