Think about this one. Allen Robinson's "current" contract can't be fit under the salary cap because it is $17.88 million. Saints would be on the hook for over half of that, but the Bears could pick up some of that by way of a bonus the same way Houston did with Ingram. Bears would likely be in line, assuming they qualify under free agency add/subtract rules, for a third round pick in 2023. It is not a sure thing. A 2023 third is equal to a 2022 fourth rounder, right? They might even accept a 2022 fifth round pick because you never really know the future. Robinson could stay with the Bears and get injured this year and be forced to sign a one year "prove it" contract and the Bears third round comp pick goes poof.
Make it happen Loomis. Trade for somebody who has proven to be an NFL receiver, because we have pretty much none of those on the field right now.
