He was (or is, I don't know) trying to be an analyst for a living. Like, a professional. That comment was the exact opposite of professional.

He used Keenan Lewis. He didn't use Lance Moore or Joe Horn or Marques Colston. Keenan had a public battle with the organization about his injury/surgery and he went off on Instagram about a number of things. There's going to be more of an agitated response from some of us when he says Drew should go hang out with someone that doesn't have the best reputation around here.

To be clear, I don't stress about it, but I also don't (and won't) support someone who immediately throws the face of the city and the franchise under the bus and public fire just because of one lost game.

And yet people like Shannon Sharpe, Skip Bayless.. Well, basically all of the analysts regularly say far more inflammatory things. You're upset because it was about your guy. It's the nature of the business. And he is a professional. He gets paid to put out a high quality product and he delivers.

The fact is Drew Brees hurt the team in his last game as a Saint. There's a legitimate argument he hurt the team by not leaving after 2018 when the decline was already becoming apparent. His dead cap money would already be gone if he had. I see a lot of people say, "for the team," when we're talking about a player they may not particularly care for but when it's one that they do suddenly we should bend over backwards for that player.

And to be clear, outside of the football world, Drew Brees is not the face of New Orleans. A lot of people even in the city, who don't care about football, only know his name because the Saints are everywhere in New Orleans.
