Stallworth wasn't prosecuted for the death because under Florida law at the time the pedestrian he hit was also in the wrong for jaywalking. Stallworth never tried to fight the lawsuit the guys daughter filed and quickly settled it. He easily could have fought the suit for years but didn't. He owned up to his mistake and paid her.
