Hill vs Siemian why is there a debate?

It's pretty simple. Many fans here have a position bias against the guy (And it's silly). They can't fathom him not playing the quasi-role Sean literally created just for him. They think it's a "2 for 1" if we can keep him there (for like 5 plays a game) and let any other backup caliber guy play QB.

And I get it, it's a comfort level thing and a fear of the unknown. I simply don't buy that. I personally think that him having the ball in his hands on every play makes us better, and makes him more of a threat. I also think that he will get better and better as a passer the more he plays and the the more teams have to respect our run game (and they will have too)...

As I said in another thread, his overall numbers (Total yards and Total TDs per game) and win percentage last year as the starter were on par with what JW was doing this season. (Let's be honest) Both were not great, inconsistent, not always making the right read, and not accurate in certain areas of the field - Both guys had issues moving the offense consistently, but did enough to get wins with a great defense and all world running back. We are 31st in the NFL in Passing yards and comp % under JW through 7 games... How the hell can we be worse with Taysom?

I also think that some are afraid that he plays lights out, and never gives up the starting job... and "their guy" never gets another shot.

This love for Journeyman Trevor is just fans "wanting their cake and eating it too". It's predictable. It worked with JW and Taysom. The problem is, Trevor is not on the same level as either Taysom or JW. He's a career backup for a reason.

Trevor was a couple of questionable calls from giving the last game away... I give him credit for not having a complete meltdown, and getting us across the finish line, but he was not very good.... Maybe just OKAY.... Not sure what everyone else saw.

Taysom on the other hand is an all-world athlete with running back and QB skills that simply needs an opportunity to shine and a coach that can maximize his abilities and minimize his mistakes - he has that here - Sean had already done that with JW... He will do it with Taysom.

The only Question right now is... Is Taysom healthy? If so... He's the guy now.
