[Merged] N/S- Henry Ruggs car accident in Vegas (update from old thread)

Just so tragic. Life is a series of decisions. I'm no moralists so if you want to make bad decisions then it's your life. We only get the one chance so live it the way you want to. But when your decisions put other people at risk, you just can't do it. A total stranger's life was ended because he decided to buy a fast car and drive it drunk.

With drunk driving I don't know what the answer is. What is the solution? Impaired people don't make rational decisions. Would a drunk person rethink getting behind the wheel if much, much harsher penalties were in place? Maybe some. If even a few people decide not to drive drunk because they could face serious consequences then lives could be saved. What if breathalyzers came standard on cars? I'd gladly be forced to blow into a tube if it meant saving a life.

I don't know the answer but I do know that there is absolutely no excuse for some of these people walking around free after getting 4 or 5 DWIs. How do people get away with so many of them? I'm sure we all know someone who has several.
