Great post. I loved my time out there. Never lived anywhere near LA but San Clemente is one of my favorite places. Lived there and around south OC most of the first ten years was out there.
The cost of housing and the godawful traffic finally got to be too much. Well that and missing New Orleans.

The coastal communities between Orange County and San Diego are nice. I've lived in different places in the San Fernando Valley since I moved here. What's funny is the rest of LA looks down on the valley. I've managed to avoid rush hour traffic for the most part. The cost of living is a potential looming issue for though, so I get it.
