Wheel of Time - Cast Predictions/Wishlist

I'm trying to decide if I should read this book series or not. I tend to prefer sci-fi over fantasy. The Expanse is one of my favorite series ever, and also Dune (the first few). And Hitchhiker's Guide.

On the fantasy side, I have read and re-read LOTR over the years and am all in. I binge-read all of the GOT books. But I have zero interest whatsoever in anything Harry Potter related. I read the first few Narnias but lost interest after the first few.

Any advice on this one? Will I be able to tell quickly if I am into it or does it take a while to develop?

It’s a solid book series. It’s not my favorite. But I always knew that it’d likely be better as a TV series than a book series because it gets really long winded. I made it through the first handful of novels. Sanderson is my favorite fantasy writer, so hopefully I can eventually get through the entire book series one day, but I want to watch the TV series first to make the book read a little more manageable so I can skim up to the Sanderson books.
