It’s fitting that a bonkers season would finish absolutely bonkers. Congrats to Max and Red Bull you have to give them credit for finally putting in a real challenge.

I can definitely understand Mercedes complaint - and this is where sanctioning bodies get in trouble when lacking definitive rules. Nascar has worked very hard (and taken a lot of heat) for coming up with its overtime system to give a racing finish to the race fans who are there to see a race. There aren’t many areas where F1 could learn from Nascar but this is definitely one of them. I know there are issues with changing the scheduled distance but you have to make a choice of interests.

If they wanted a Green Flag finish, then they should've red flagged the race and given us a 4-5 lap sprint. F1 lets teams swap tires during a red, this would've given us a Lewis v Max on softs for 4 laps instead of this snuff film we saw on the final lap.

Once they went yellow, the race was pretty much handed to Max because if Lewis pitted, Max and Perez would've stayed out and put Lewis at the best 3rd. Or...they could've just closed down pit road during the yellow since they apparently just make up rules as they go.

Either of the alternatives are better than what we saw, Lewis had no chance in hell after they let the lapped traffic through...like I said "snuff film"
