Winning out: What does it even look like?

Wouldn't us getting in the playoffs at 9-8 involve a fair amount of help from other teams though? I think even if we win out, we could still miss the playoffs (I think MIN currently has a tiebreaker on us and if they beat CHI tonight we would be out of the playoffs if the season ended tonight)?
