My thought(s) can apply to both these comments I suppose. I am not against changes from the books. But I think it makes sense ONLY if the changes are for the better. So far these differences in the adaptation - either additions that never happened in the book (or happened much later in later books) or omissions from the book, have not really made things better. So it just seems like change for the sake of change or for some dramatic effect, or something. I don't know. I'd be real curious how or why the writers took what actually happened in the books and went "naw, lets change that to something completely different"
