Mayor Avegno just announced New Orleans is returning to an indoor mask mandate, which seems pretty silly at this point.

Possibly setting up for cancelling Mardi Gras again.
Still think having a March Mardi Gras this year will end up being an advantage. I'm sure a very last-minute cancellation will be a very costly PITA for many ... but city & parish officials still have about five more weeks to monitor conditions and make a call.

I know people can be very traditional about things ... but I don't see why the parade season couldn't be moved back a few weeks. For the sake of events, tourism, etc. ... would a March 22nd or March 29th Mardi Gras be all that different from a March 1st Mardi Gras? I know people have hotel reservations and flights and all that already. But still.
