Still think having a March Mardi Gras this year will end up being an advantage. I'm sure a very last-minute cancellation will be a very costly PITA for many ... but city & parish officials still have about five more weeks to monitor conditions and make a call.

I know people can be very traditional about things ... but I don't see why the parade season couldn't be moved back a few weeks. For the sake of events, tourism, etc. ... would a March 22nd or March 29th Mardi Gras be all that different from a March 1st Mardi Gras? I know people have hotel reservations and flights and all that already. But still.

Celebrate Mardi Gras during lent?
