Is Old Music Killing New Music?

One need only watch NBC's Songland to understand why the new stuff doesn't hold up to classic rock. It's a hook-laden, originality-crushing, formula-driven process, designed to churn out bubble gum pop for mass consumption. Does anyone think Led Zeppelin, or any of the great singer-songwriters-composers, would put up with a newb like Ryan Tedder telling them how to craft their art? Absolutely not.

New music is being 'killed' because it's mass produced watered-down 'art', and people are choosing to listen to the old stuff, which is vastly better.

I'm done here.
