Teddy or Jameis?
I get that people have strong feelings about QBs, but to say it's not even debatable who the Saints should prefer is crazy.
Some of you guys are acting like Bridgewater is trash. He completed 67% of his attempts last year as a starter for the Broncos for more than 3k yards and 18 TDs against only 7 Ints. I think he'd do even better back with Pete Carmichael in a system geared to his talents as a short-medium thrower who makes good decisions (a la Brees). By contrast, I always got the feeling last year that Jameis was trying to alter his style of play to fit what the Saints wanted in a QB. That's not an issue with Teddy.
Jameis was solid in seven starts, especially his 14-3 TD-Int ratio. But he also only completed 59% of his attempts. More concerning he only managed about 160 passing yards per game on about 22 attempts. Now, that may be on the coaching staff and maybe things would have picked up if he'd played the second half of the season, but we just don't know why the team kept the training wheels on.
I'd be fine bringing Jameis back. As I said in the OP he clearly has more upside than Teddy. But in no way, shape or form is the case for Jameis over Teddy a slam dunk.
