Teddy or Jameis?
Teddy is what he is. A bottom 3rd qb that has no ceiling. He isnt going to elevate a team. He isnt going to have weeks where he goes out there and wins games. He doesnt make his receivers better. He doesnt have the arm talent to do that. He is a plus level backup or a below average starter. Great dude, great teammate, but a guy you go get to solidify the QB position, he is not.
Winston played with a stacked deck and still managed to get things done in a reasonably efficient way considering the circumstances. He has a ceiling that I dont know weve reached yet. Its somewhere between 30/30 Jameis and last years version of game manager with no weapons Jameis. Thats good enough for what we need here. Its not the perfect situation, but amongst who is left out there, it is the best one. If not, draft a qb and hope.
And there is no world, or reality, or parallel universe anymore where Taysom is IN the conversation. That ship sailed. His position going forward is #3 QB and full time joker. Nola.com article recently appeared to have info that we can finally put that to bed:
- One addendum to the quarterback conversation: It appears the idea of Taysom Hill potentially competing for a starting role in New Orleans has run its course. Once he recovers from his multiple 2021 injuries, it looks like he will be locked into his valuable multi-purpose role.
