I'm sure carpooling took a big hit during Covid and suspect it's not going to come back to the same levels as before anytime soon. There should be more options for public transportation, but I don't know that state and local governments are going to do what it takes to make it truly viable for a wider number of people. When I return to working in the office, I'll be taking the metro again.
