And since he is on a cheap 2 year deal, it won't stop them from pursuing other options if Winston doesn't continue to improve and work out in the next 2 years. So, how could the signing be damaging in the long run?

Exactly. That was the lamest part of the Walter Football analysis. We don't sign Jameis short-term, then who's going to be our QB at this point and at what cost? It was the most rational and safest move we could make that would still give us a chance to win.
