Yep. It looks like Winston got a bit more up front money but with incentives he would get paid like Hill would get paid if he were the starter. It seemed that the contract was always going to need to be able to be worth at least as much as Hill's starter clause in his contract. Which is a good deal for Winston and the Saints. If he performs Winston gets solid starting QB money just under Brady who is at $25 million AAV (which obviously means Brady is underpaid and taking way less money than he could get). On the other hand, even if the Saints have to pay out the $22 or so million it's because Winston is playing well and we likely have double digit wins and a shot to make noise in the playoffs. And if Winston doesn't perform and as a result we don't win he is being paid a reasonable price and we have the flexibility to move on.
